Earthquake Preparedness Exercise

The Local Emergency Planning Committee is conducting a recovery tabletop exercise to assist in planning for a large magnitude quake. Earthquakes present the biggest risk in this area for widespread disaster and damage. The focus will be on utilities, infrastructure and communications. Media and the public are invited to attend the meeting to witness the proceedings and also ask questions to the expert panel. It will be on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 1:30 p.m., Tooele County Courthouse Auditorium, 47 S. Main St., Tooele. Tooele County has the reputation of being one of the best prepared counties in the state and possibly in the nation.
